The future is mobile (devices)

“In a world where more than half of email messages are first read on a mobile device, it’s essential to give people fantastic email experiences wherever they go,” Microsoft VP Rajesh Jha said in the blog. “The Acompli team is passionate about this quest.”

Microsoft acknowledging where the puck has headed (I suppose it's arrived already?) as they announced last week they have purchased Accompi, an iOS app - now, when can they get it integrated into Outlook and it's web/mobile corporate versions (as well as a mobile option)......

As an aside, I've been experimenting with Google's new Inbox - which essentially takes a lot of 'inspiration' from Dropbox's Mailbox. Lovely concept for many use-cases (the reminder system is particularly well set up - and I've tried Mailbox, etc. in comparison) but there's a 'slow-ness' to it that I'm not used to with Google's normal services (perhaps due to be running it on an iPhone 4S?). Also, for fun, turn on Inbox while on a large screen retina device to see how you can waste screen real estate :)
